This is another great way to fill up on those beneficial algues and proteins found in spirulina.

spirulina is a microalgae that has been consumed for centuries due to its high nutritional value and supposed health benefits. It is considered a secret, potent "superfood," a "miracle from the sea."

spirulina is a plant based protein source together with  Seeds and their Oils - Chia, Flaxseed, Hemp. Nuts and their Oils - Walnuts, Green Leafy Vegetables, Broccoli, Sea Vegetables, and Blue-Green Algae. 



Spirulina Almond Milk
recipe type: to smoothie, to breakfast, to blend

what you need:
a coldpresssed almond milk or just regular almond milk, or make one yourself.
( add some cinnamon, dates and vanilla to the milk)
a scoop of spirulina powder

what to do:
shake it up!
 




Homemade almond milk
recipe type: to smoothie, to breakfast, to blend

what you need
1 1/2 cups pure water*
1/2 cup almonds, soaked 8-12 hours and rinsed thoroughly
*Amount of water depends on desired creaminess.

what to do
Blend ingredients and strain through a chinois, nut milk bag or a cheesecloth lined strainer.Spread out pulp on dehydrator tray to be used for flour, if desired.

sweetener options
1 soaked date
1 1/2 teaspoons liquid sweetener (honey, yacon syrup, coconut nectar, maple syrup)
Stevia (liquid, powder, or fresh)

flavor options
1/2 vanilla bean, scraped (optional)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon vanilla powder

creamier options
1 a 2 tablespoons coconut butter
1 a 2 tablespoons coconut oil

foodfact:
almond milk is a great lactose / dairy replacment
almonds contain protein, so get some protein in that milk!
you can use the left over pulp for baking, into crackers, for smoothies,...
